Acclaimed Theologian Discusses the Dignity of Difference

BRYN MAWR, PA – August 21, 2008 – Dr. Stanley  Hauerwas, Professor of Theological Ethics, Duke University Divinity School, will  be speaking at Eastern University on Thursday, October 2 at 7:00 pm.  “Pentecost,” the Hauerwas lecture, is part of the Metanexus Institute Lecture Series.  The event, co-sponsored by the Templeton Honor College at Eastern University, is free and open to the public.

About “Pentecost”
“Pentecost” considers the dignity of difference in a modern world.  Christians mark the feast of Pentecost as the birth of a people through the restoration of communication between people of different languages and stories.  Dr. Hauerwas’ talk looks at humanity’s prospects of transforming a trend of domination into a culture of communication, where people are free to love one another without fear.
