We invite papers addressing a fascinating area of interdisciplinary research: science-theology dialogue.  From emergence to cosmology, from mathematics to computers, from information to intelligence, there are many unanswered questions.  While physicists search for the “God particle” and a unified theory of everything, others are fascinated by a designer universe permeated with fractals.  Yet, on the cusp of a grand theory explaining everything, new scientific findings suggest that most of the universe is still unknown, given dark matter and black holes, the Big Bang, and the riddle of life’s origins.  Some scientists, philosophers, and theologians seek to bridge the cognitive gap between natural science and religion, evolution and creation, by the notion of “emergence”–an energy, force, or blueprint inherent in nature.  What if meant by “emergence,” and what is its relationship to evolution and creation?  Can emergence be understood as “cosmic genesis,” the work of a Creator-God Who is also a Master Programmer?  What is the nature of fractals? Why does design go “all the way down,” hence pointing to an Intelligent Designer?  And what is the relationship between intelligent design and artificial intelligence? Presenters are encouraged to connect with relevant ideas and articles in the Journal of Interdisciplinary Studies which aspires to synergy, synthesis, and cumulative knowledge, if not wisdom.
