Annette Langley became interested in necessity while researching a book she is writing about vocation. Langley served for ten years as a member of non-teaching faculty at the University of Colorado where she focused on science writing, editing and media relations for the Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Science. During that time Langley also worked as a features editor and writer for the NASA Earth Observatory. Currently she holds directorships on the boards of a financial holding company and small independent bank in Colorado. With a B. S. in journalism, besides science and technical work in a PR capacity, Langley has produced news, features, and guest opinions for newspapers, hosts weekly news programs at her local public radio station, and has a chapter in a medical resource book. The single mother of eight grown children, Langley writes from her home in Longmont, Colorado.
