The Rockefeller Foundation and the Institute for the Future have invited gamers from all walks of life to join them on the Catalysts for Change platform to help identify new solutions to global poverty. Participants will leverage 140-character messages to play a game of cards, with each card capturing an idea. Game participants will use the cards to build on one another’s ideas, starting a chain reaction of innovation and possible solutions.

Ideas generated during the game and at a forum in the San Francisco Bay Area attended by leaders in international philanthropy, development, technology, design, and social innovation will be featured in an online blog which builds on an interactive map that already offers more than six hundred examples of innovative approaches to issues facing poor communities worldwide. The card or chain that best uses game principles to identify concrete ideas with the potential to transform the landscape of poverty will be selected as the winner.
