Norman Kachuck
Bio
Norman J. Kachuck, MD is an Associate Professor of Clinical Neurology at the USC Keck School of Medicine, and Director of the USC MS Comprehensive Care Center.ï¾ He earned his bachelorï¾’s degree in musical performance and composition from the University of California, San Diego, and worked as a musician as well as doing graduate work at the Juilliard School before returning to UCLA for post baccalaureate pre-medical studies.ï¾ He attended medical school at USC, and subsequently completed the Neurology residency there, joining the USC faculty in 1991.
Since doing work with John Fleming, MD on corona-virus infections and EAE, Dr. Kachuck has been a clinician and investigator in MS immunology and therapeutics.ï¾ As Chief of the Neuroimmunology Division of the Department of Neurology, he has an active clinical practice, and teaches medical student, allied health profession students, and doctors in training.ï¾ He oversees the MS groupï¾’s clinical research activity as well as spearheading the disease management aspects of the Center mission.ï¾ He is on the board of the Clinical Advisory Committee of the National MS Society, and lectures widely on MS research and treatment advances.ï¾ He also serves as Vice Chief of the USC Health Sciences Institutional Review Board.ï¾ He has three sons, and lives in the San Fernando Valley.
