Is transhumanism the great promise of technoscience or "the world's most dangerous idea"? The debate is an extremely fruitful field for philosophical and theological inquiry.

Gregory R. Hansell is the Managing Director of Global Communications. In this position, Hansell acts as Director and Editor of The Global Spiral, the international e-publication of the Metanexus Institute. Hansell also serves as Director of Information Technology.

Hansell received the M.A. in Theology from Union Theological Seminary, specializing in the Philosophy of Religion, and the B.A. in Religion from Swarthmore College, with an interdisciplinary concentration in Interpretation Theory. He is currently working on his Ph.D. in Philosophy from Villanova University.

Hansell juxtaposes academic training in philosophical theology and philosophy of religion with technical training and extensive career experience in computer networking, programming, and hardware. Hansell has worked for Prudential Financial, RMH Teleservices, and Marastar Communications.

Hansell is interested in work at the intersection of the continental philosophy of religion, metaphysics, and theology, including issues of authenticity, aesthetics, secular theology, and new readings of theological anthropology.
