John Kotre
Bio
John Kotre is the author of eight books about lives, memories, and legacies, all of which take a narrative approach. Best known for his work on “generativity”—the impact of one’s life on future generations—Kotre was also the creator of the award-winning public television and radio series Seasons of Life. His most recent works are a book and a blog called The Story of Everything: A Parable of Creation and Evolution. A onetime Jesuit seminarian, he received his doctorate in psychology from the University of Chicago and spent 35 years as a professor and project director at the Dearborn and Ann Arbor campuses of the University of Michigan.
