Niko Luoma was born 1970 in Helsinki, Finland, where he lives and works today. He graduated from the University of Art and Design Helsinki in 2003. He is a visiting professor at the Aalto University School of Arts, Design and Architecture and an integral part of the Helsinki School. His works have been widely exhibited including his resent solo presentation at Bryce Wolkowitz Gallery, New York City and are represented in international collections, including those of Finnish National Gallery, Helsinki; Kiasma Museum of Contemporary Art,Helsinki; Danish National Museum of Photography, Copenhagen; and Pentti Kouri Collection, New York. His first monograph Niko Luoma: And Time Is No Longer An Obstacle was published 2013 by Hatje Cantz. Luoma is represented by Bryce Wolkowitz Gallery in New York City and by Taik Persons in Berlin.
